A good turnout considering the changes that had to be made at the last minute.

This was to be the annual match against the Battalion and to raise funds for the ABF but as we know operational commitments meant the Battalion could not commit to this one.

The weather was good with light to moderate winds, so no excuses please!

More photo's to follow and a few video shots which can be viewed at www.vva.org.uk When I can get them on.

Thanks to those who brought in prizes and we did actually raise £29.00 which will go to the VVA.

Contributions for the December 2009 edition of Castle

Contributions for the December 2009 edition of Castle should reach RHQ by 23 Oct 09. We are always on the lookout for photos, news and gossip for the 'Mainly About People' section and similarly would welcome reminiscences or thought provocation under 'Letters to the Editor'.

For those of you who have a particular story to tell, then an interesting 'Special Features' article might provide the opportunity to share it amongst the Regimental Family. And we can never have enough good quality photos, with clear captions, that might be slipped into 'Can You Remember'.

We very much rely on the mandated contributions from the battalions, associations and cadets for the bulk of the contributions. But colorful yarns from the wider readership really does add much to the final product.

Regards, Kevin.   Lt Col (Retd) K Hodgson OBE
