Norway 1974 Video

This film was shot in 1974 for an advertisement for recruitment to the army. It is the Drums Platoon. It took 3 weeks to make. Dennis Waterman did Toms voice over on the original but they changed it after a year and re released it. There were two films made, the other one was only shown a few times on channel 4.

The opening scene shows them on a mountain, they were choppered up there. It was sheer ice and at one stage, they all nearly went over the edge when four people slipped and started going over the edge, but they manged to hold on to the pulk and pull them back. It really was scary.

FBS News Item Regarding 3rd Battalion in Afghanistan

In Helmand's northern Musa Qala District, Territorial Army soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment are attached to the Household Cavalry. This video from YouTube shows an excellent BFBS Film Clip covering the current work of our 3rd Battalion soldiers in Afghanistan.

Heroes of Helmand - Heroes of Helmand 1 - 3 BBC 2008

The first Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment endured six months of hell in Helmand Province, This is a great clip of the Battalion when we endured six months of hell in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. A sad tour were we lost nine great Vikings and scores more were wounded. This is the story of those six months and of the heroism of two soldiers among many, one who survived and the other who was wounded and died. Using dramatic combat footage shot by the men themselves, the film unfolds a heart-stopping saga of courage and sacrifice during an emotionally-charged journey from the battlefield to Buckingham Palace.
